Ducks Playoff Info: I tried adding this yesterday, but couldn’t for some reason. The Long Island Ducks did make the playoffs with three games to go and up three games up on the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. The reason? According to Ducks general manager Mike Pfaff: “The Ducks clinched (Thursday) night due to the fact that, in the event of a dead heat in the standings, we own the tie-breaker advantage over Southern Maryland. While we split the season series 10-10, the second tie-breaker used to decide division winners is head-to-head record in the second half, which the Ducks own a 6-4 advantage in.
So there you have it. Here’s the Newsday piece from the day they clinched. – SS
