Saints Deal To A.L.: The St. Paul Saints pretty much sent their entire roster over to Atlantic League teams. Well, not really, but a bunch of players are coming and none are going — thanks to everyone’s favorite trade bait, future consideration.

Here’s a rundown: The Saints traded pitcher Jeff Blitstein to the Newark Bears. Outfielder Brent Krause and catcher Kevin Sullivan were dealt to the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (The Saints also got cash back in that deal.) Finally, the Bridgeport Bluefish acquired outfielder Mike Bille and left-hander Mark Romanczuk.

The Saints season ended this weekend, so obviously these guys needed a place to go.

Ducks Lose Two: Outfielder Richard Hidalgo has left the Long Island Ducks to tend to personal matters. It’s only temporarily and the team expects him back before the end of the year.

Also, Long Island placed Nook Logan on the disabled list today with a shoulder injury he suffered in the Newark series. He’s done for the year.

The Ducks do a good job of updating their team roster page on LIDucks.com so keep checking that out, as well as here.

You Want Patriots Updates, I Got ‘Em: The Patriots tell me that outfielder Ryan Radmanovich is back with the team as of today and will be in uniform. As for pitchers Bret Prinz and Travis Minix, they’re still out and it’s unknown when they’ll be back. – Scott Stanchak

1. Paul Braverman - August 26, 2008

Mike Bille is a right-handed pitcher, not an outfielder. He spent one year in the Marlins system in 2005 in A ball, then a couple years with Evansville in the Frontier League before this season.

2. Scott Stanchak - August 26, 2008

I’m going off the report. It says he’s an outfielder.

Any idea what happened to Richard Hidalgo? He is still on the Ducks roster but he was not with the team yesterday.

See today’s update for the Ducks question.

Is Radmanovich coming back to the Patriots? Any chance Prinz or Minix come back in the next few weeks?

6. Anonymous - August 26, 2008

I believe Radmanovich is coming back soon, as for the pitchers I havent heard much. I’d like to see Prinz back.

with Everett out again with a leg injury – Hidalgo away on personal matters – Logan out for season with shoulder injury – Ducks lineup doesn’t look as menacing as it once did

Also add Todd Williams to that list. So now the Ducks are without their leading homerun hitter(Everett), their centerfielder and leading base stealer(Logan), their closer(Williams) and they wasted another great outing by Lance Davis (8 innings, 1 hit, 1 ER) last night. This series with Southern Maryland will probably decide the season for them.

Patriots updates now in the news.

Raphael Bergstrom says he’s with the Brockton Rox for the rest of their season, which could end after September 1st, if the Rox don’t make the playoffs (and they’re a longshot to do so, now).
Bergstrom tells me that he was surprised to leave Bridgeport, but says it’s posssible that he would return to the Bluefish for the remainder of this season. He says he wants to continue his career and says out of 18 starts this year in the Atlantic League he had several pretty good ones….but a few blowoutouts really brought up his ERA. Bergstrom also says that Wes Wilkerson might end up with a team like Lancaster. And he says TJ Tucker may just go home, as he’s “tired.” The 2 new pitchers from St. Paul may be coming to Bridgeport not only to help with the last run towards a playoff position, but they may also be auditioning for a job for 2009.

Will Kevin Sullivan bring the Purple Haze with him?

the Ducks leave the bases loaded 5 times in a 0-4 loss to S. Maryland

I think Hugh Morris is more likely.

Good one sharks52. I believe Morris is from Nutley N.J.
