Gibbons Gone?: Just got a call from a former player letting me know that Long Island OF Jay Gibbons is set to agree to terms with the Milwaukee Brewers. This was also confirmed by someone who regularly scouts Atlantic League talent.

The deal, pending a physical, would likely send Gibbons to Triple-A.

The former long-time Oriole was hitting .280 with five home runs and 19 RBI in 27 games with the Ducks.

Morse To Maryland: The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs have added LHP Bryan Morse. Morse, a Maryland native and veteran of independent baseball, is a 29-year-old starter who has spent the last six seasons away from affiliated baseball.

The former Florida farmhand is 59-40 with an ERA of 2.99 over 175 career appearances. – Mike Ashmore

Ducks Sign Damian: The Long Island Ducks have signed infielder Damian Jackson. The former big leaguer last played in the majors with the Washington Nationals in 2006. – SS
