Hoorelbeke VS. Pressley: This one’s pretty simple. Which guy would you rather have on your team? Bridgeport’s Jesse Hoorelbeke or Somerset’s Josh Pressley?

wow.. what a question.. I’d take Jesse because I’ve also seen many times how he makes incredible plays at first to get outs.. he has a split stretch that he can just get up from.. the rest of us would be in traction after attempting that

I would rather have Newarks Ramon Castro

Jesse has had a good season and a half with the Bluefish; not as high an average this year, but he’s brought his BA up in recent weeks. Love his ability to go first to 3rd on a hit in the gap. And he DOES play some superb first base. Taking nothing away from Pressley or Castro (and I just saw Ramon when Newark came to Harbor Yard—-very nice guy and he can do PLENTY), I would still like to pick Jesse. He’s great with kids and wants to win very badly.

I think Jesse is great, but for this leagea, having a stud pitcher really gives a team a huge edge.Of course, that’s only good for 1 or 2 games a week.

Duh,of course ,Pressley is also a hitter,I was thinking of someone else,my sincere apoligies for such an egregious error.

Being a Patriots fan, I am a lot closer to what Pressley has done and he has been incredibly valuable. Lots of clutch hits and homers. Hoorelbeke is good and probably a bit better with the glove but Pressley wins due to familarity.

Pete Maestrales returned to the Ducks lineup last night and went 1-4 and scored a run and then decided to retire today to work with his father.

From a scout’s perspective, I’d want Hoorelbeke for indy ball, but Pressley for an organization. But neither one is more than a fill-in guy.

Hoorelbeke’s a better defender, but Pressley’s the overall better hitter. Gives you a Doug Mientkiewicz feel. But Hoorelbeke is more dangerous in terms of power.
