Ellison Activated: Rich Elliot of the Connecticut Post is reporting that Bridgeport Bluefish pitcher Derrick Ellison has been activated from the disabled list. Ellison, who had been battling a sore oblique, worked a scoreless eighth against the Camden Riversharks in his return.

Maryland Deals: The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs have sent OF Michael Conroy to the Grand Prairie Air Hogs for… wait for it… future consideration. Conroy has Single-A experience with the Cleveland Indians organization. His best season came in his last with the club, when he hit 12 home runs and had 70 RBI. He also batted .228 — that’ll do it. This season he was batting .147 in limited action. – Scott Stanchak

Murray Activated Again: The Bluefish have re-activated OF Glenn Murray again. Coaches getting activated…trust me, people outside the league talk about this and think it looks bad, it isn’t just me.

The Pick-Up Artist: Here’s a look at how some of the players who’ve been picked up out of the Atlantic League have been doing in their new surroundings…

YORK, Kenny Perez (AAA – Rockies) 4 GP, .222, 0 HR, 0 RBI

And for anyone curious, Ray Navarrete was 2-for-4 with a triple, 2 RBI and a stolen base in his Mexican League debut last night.

Ducks Add Two, Release Two: The Long Island Ducks have added P Donovan Osborne and P Vic Darensbourg.

Osborne…perhaps this signals the return of Bill Pulsipher as well. It seems like the Ducks always have these guys stored away that they can use whenever they need them. Anyway, he’s a former big leaguer who’s also pitched for Bridgeport in this league.

Darensbourg joins Tom Martin and Todd Williams as relievers on the team with extensive big league time. The 37-year-old has appeared in 309 MLB games with the Marlins, Rockies, Expos, White Sox, Mets and Tigers.

Also, the team has released P Kevin Mannix and P Mike Myers.

Blue Crabs Cut McClain: Southern Maryland has released OF Terrence McClain and dealt OF Mike Conroy to the Grand Prairie Airhogs of the American Association. – MA

Why isn’t Radmanovich playing for the Patriots? He has been in only one game since returning.

Mike,

What happened with the trade between Camden and Long Island. Strong hasn’t made an appearance for Camden yet did he decide not to show?

I know that Strong left the Ducks to go home for “family reasons”. He was expected to return to the Ducks when his family obligations were completed but was traded during the interim period.

Ray Navarrete told Chris King in an interview that “they (Duck’s fans) probably have not seen the last of Ray Navarrete in a Ducks uniform this year”. The Mexican League regular season finishes the last week in July and Ray should be back some time in August. If he is picked up by a MLB AAA team after that, he should return to the Ducks for the playoffs.

The Baltimore Sun is reporting that Jay Gibbons will be signing with a New Jersey or New York based Atlantic League team soon. Any word on this?
