DiFelice Gets The Call: P Mark DiFelice, the 2005 Atlantic League Championship Series MVP, has been called up to the big leagues by the Milwaukee Brewers.

DiFelice, who spent the second half of 2005 with Somerset and all of 2006 in Camden, was picked up by the Brewers in the winter of 2006, and pitched very well for their Double-A and Triple-A affiliates last season.

This year, he was 3-0 with a 3.91 ERA in four starts with Triple-A Nashville before getting the call.

This is exactly the kind of story the Atlantic League loves: a guy with no prior big league experience gets his shot.

He is only the third Patriot with no prior big league experience to get to the show — Mike Glavine and Brandon Puffer are the others.

LeCroy Activated: The Lancaster Barnstormers have activated C/1B/DH Matt LeCroy off of the disabled list.

Gil Added: P Dave Gil, one of York’s best pitchers last season, has been activated by the team. – Mike Ashmore
