I was at tonight’s Newark Bears media day and will have reaction, player interviews and notes posted tomorrow. – Scott

Ambrosini Released: Jason Guarente is reporting that Lancaster has released OF Dominick Ambrosini.

Considering the numbers that Ambro put up last season — .316, 19 HR, 70 RBI — it might seem a little surprising at first. But Guarente writes that the issue had more to do with attitude than it did performance.

“It was the attitude I saw coming back to the dugout, like he didn’t really have a worry in the world,” Lancaster manager Von Hayes told Guarente.

“If I played on a last-place team the previous season, I would show more energy in the spring of the following year. I didn’t see that. I didn’t want to have a repetition of that attitude carrying over from last year.” – MA

Barnstormers Sign Two: A few days back, Guarente reported that the Barnstormers gave former Patriots pitcher Robert Averette was given a tryout by the team. Today, the club signed him and outfielder Jarred Ball. The 25-year-old Ball has Triple-A experience in the Arizona Diamondbacks system. He’ll replace Ambrosini on the roster.

Guarente also writes that pitchers Sendy Rheal and Jose Cabrera will start the season on the inactive list. Both are having visa problems. – SS

Ducks Ink Martin: The Long Island Ducks have signed Major League veteran P Tom Martin to a contract.

Martin has spent all or parts of the last 11 seasons in the big leagues with Houston, Cleveland, New York (NL), Tampa Bay, Los Angeles (NL), Atlanta and Colorado.

Odd Tom Martin fact? He has appeared in 376 Major League games and 376 minor league games.

Foli Artist Takes Act Elsewhere: Jeff Johnson is reporting that the Revolution have released P Dan Foli for the Atlantic League favorite “undisclosed reasons.”

Johnson reports that the team will likely add another pitcher, perhaps as soon as tomorrow. – Mike Ashmore

Are we going to see final scouting reports and predictions in the next couple of days?

I really like the Patriots roster. Hopefully they start quickly and get the first half won before they lose too many to affiliated ball.

Mike has been working on a season preview and I’ll be sure to throw my two cents in there as well.

I hope, once the rosters are settled, to create a new permanant link for each team’s roster. It will probably replace the 2008 signing chart.
