Former Player News: Former Atlantic City Surf infielder Demetrius Heath was traded from the St. Paul Saints of the the American Association to Grand Prairie for cash. Heath hit very well — at least .286 or higher — during his three-year tenure with the club.

Revisiting An Idea: The Winnipeg Goldeneyes agreed to terms with first baseman Walter Young today. Young, a former Baltimore Oriole prospect, is someone Mike and I have written about in the past. He’s a huge guy, with tons of power potential. Not to mention, he’s only about 27-years-old.

Young, someone I interviewed with when he was in the majors with the Orioles, would be a perfect fit in the Atlantic League. With all of their Oriole ties, I’m surprised the York Revolution haven’t picked him up. Now, keep in mind, I don’t know if Young wants to play in the Atlantic League, but if you want to get back to the bigs, this is where he should be.

Last season with Winnipeg, Young hit 21 home runs with 78 RBI, all while hitting .313. – Scott Stanchak
