Adding To The Barn: The Lancaster Barnstormers added a few new faces to their roster Monday, and all of them are familiar faces to manager Von Hayes.

The club inked right-handers Mike Nannini and Tim McClaskey, as well as utility man Lloyd Turner.

Both Nannini and Turner played for Hayes as members of the Midland RoundHounds of the Double-A Texas League. McClaskey faced Hayes while pitching for Corpus Christi in the Texas League.

A little more: Nannini is a former first-round (37th overall) pick of the Houston Astros. He has Triple-A experience.

As for Turner, the Barnstormers believe his speed will be a huge asset. In fact, in a release today, V.P. of baseball operations Keith Lupton said: “Between Turner and Michael Woods (who the Barnstormers signed last week), we’ll have two of the fastest guys in the Atlantic League. It will be fun to watch these guys run.”

McClaskey was drafted by the Florida Marlins in 1995 and spent last season with the Philadelphia Phillies Double-A club in Reading. – Scott Stanchak

Crabs Chat: The St. Paul Saints sent INF Chad Ehrnsberger to Southern Maryland (Atlantic) for a player to be named. Also, the Nashua Pride traded OF Rich Giannotti, LHP Beau Hintz and OF John Ramistella to Southern Maryland (Atlantic) for future considerations.

Southern Maryland is adding some manpower too.

From the American Association transaction page:
“St. Paul: Traded INF Chad Ehrnsberger to Southern Maryland (Atlantic League) in exchange for a player to be named later.”

From the Can-Am League transaction page: “Nashua: Traded OF Richard Giannotti, LHP Beau Hintz and OF John Ramistella to Southern Maryland (Atlantic League) in exchange for future considerations.”

Nothing that will make much difference, but at least there are some names down on paper (or cyber).

Matt Dryer is possibly returning to the York Revolution.

He gave an interview and mentioned the fact that Chris Hoiles told him that there would be a hair policy next season.

Dryer responded by saying well I am coming witha mohawk then.
