Happy Thanksgiving: Mike and I would like to wish everyone and their families a very happy holiday and enjoyable Thanksgiving.

Barnstormers Manager: I’ve contacted the Barnstormers and am hoping to get in touch with new manager Von Hayes in the next couple of days. I hope to hear back from them after the holiday. I’ll keep you updated. – Scott Stanchak

Actual, Legitimate News!!!: The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed former Somerset Patriots C Michel Hernandez. Hernandez tore the cover off the ball in his brief stay in Bridgewater, and also had the best walk to strikeout ratio in the league at the time of his signing by the Devil Rays. He’ll likely spend the majority of his year in Triple-A.

3B Jeff Nettles has re-signed with the Royals, while P Shane Loux — who you might remember tried out for the Revolution — has signed with the ANGELS.

OF Bobby Malek has agreed to terms with the DODGERS, while P Bobby Brownlie has apparently inked a deal with the Washington Nationals.

Furthermore, the Cubs have re-signed P Cory Bailey, formerly of the Ducks. Word out of Bears camp is that pitchers J.J. Trujillo and R.J. Swindle have both re-signed with the Phillies as well.

OF Mel Stocker will be back with the Brewers, while P Brandon Puffer has signed with Texas.

Note: The teams of Loux and Malek were accidentally switched, please note the changes.

That’s good news for Jeff Nettles, but I was kind of hoping he’d be back with the Somerset Patriots.

Good news for Nettles and Brownlie. Given the state of the Nationals pitching, I would give Brownlie a great shot at being on the major league roster.
