Kudos go out to Dave Lapoint tonight. In the bottom of the eighth, with the Ducks leading the Road Warriors 9-2, the Ducks had batted around and had the bases loaded with two outs and Dave sent Eric Colon in to pinch hit for DH Carl Everett. Eric (who was activated on August 28th) has been the bullpen catcher for 8 years. The fans went crazy when they announced Eric into the game. Eric took a few swings, fouling off one before he was banged out looking on a questionable call by home plate umpire Randy Jones.

Now we’re just waiting for Dave to give the okay for Rob (The Punisher)Cafiero to be able to start a game with that knuckleball of his.

It was a nice moment tonight to see Colon get a chance to bat.It may have been a questionable call, but he has to be swinging at anything close in that kind of game. It would be real cool to see Cafiero get to start a game. maybe when the Ducks clinch a playoff spot,he will. BTW,tteski, did you notice the scouts at the game tonight,at least I think they where with thier radar guns. I wonder if they where checking out Joe Valentine.

Also,Darwin Soto of the Warriors pitched really well tonight until running out of gas in the 6th.Also,nice play by Kevin Haverbusch to rob Ian Bladergroan of a possible 2 run double to end the game.

Road Warriors usually have two players using a speed gun during the games.
