Hake, pretty in pink last season with Lancaster (Ashmore)

Hake, Crozier Back To The Barn: Jason Guarente of The Lancaster New Era reports that the Lancaster Barnstormers have re-acquired INF Travis Hake from the York Revolution and have signed INF/OF Eric Crozier.

According to Guarente, York will receive the player to be named later that was due to Lancaster from the Dario Delgado deal with the Schaumburg Flyers.

Nice to see Hake back where he belongs. When he signed with York, it seemed like little more than a PR move. Considering the glut of middle infielders in York, he’ll be a very useful addition to Lancaster.

Guarente also writes that Lancaster has released Steve Booker and John Wolff.

UPDATED: Guarente is now reporting that former Road Warriors INF Felix Martinez has signed with the Barnstormers. He also writes that P Lance Odom has been cut.

New Guy Gets A New Gig: Two former Atlantic Leaguers have landed on their feet with the Sussex Skyhawks of the Can-Am League.

Former York P Matt Hirsh and ex-Lancaster P Jason Norderum have both signed with the club and will be activated today.

I spoke to both players last night. Norderum said that he got a phone call yesterday morning, and that the deal materialized pretty quickly.

“I felt like I was throwing the ball pretty well in Lancaster,” Norderum said, noting that he was brought in as a starter and ended up in the bullpen, something that was difficult for him to adjust to.

Norderum, who said he enjoyed playing in the Atlantic League, will be moved into the Skyhawks starting rotation.

“I just want to show people that I can still get the job done,” he said.

Hirsh will start his tenure with the Skyhawks in the bullpen, and he’s also pretty excited about having an opportunity to continue his career.

Want quotes from Hirsh? Ask him yourself. Matt would like to answer any questions you might have about moving to the Can-Am League and about his experience in the Atlantic League, and we’ll post the questions and answers here in a few days.

With John Wolff out of Lancaster, he could land in the Can-Am. With his Ivy pedigree you’d think the NH Cutters could do worse.

Went to Newark today to get some signatures, thinking that a 5:05 game would draw a sparse crowd- it did. So sparse, as a matter of fact, that the Bridgeport manager, Tommy John, was not there. I brought three books of his to get signed (he’s rather prolific) and now have two Bluefish balls signed by everyone except him. Oh, well.
