Redman to Revolutionize Baltimore: According to the York Revolution website, OF Tike Redman has been signed by the Baltimore Orioles and will report to their Triple-A affiliate in Ottawa.

At the time of his departure, Redman was leading the league in hitting with a .464 batting average in his first seven games.

A player like Redman is exactly why the league was created. It was so obvious that he had no business in the Atlantic League, but if the league wasn’t around, where would he play…

Perhaps this means more playing time for Peter Bergeron, who was “given the series off” against Somerset.

Junge To Yankees: The Bridgeport Bluefish have lost starter Eric Junge to the New York Yankees organization. Junge, a former Philadelphia Phillie, will report to Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre.

In two games with the Bluefish, he posted a 1.29 ERA in 5.1 innings of work.

Acuna Signs With Ducks: OF Ron Acuna is the newest Long Island Duck, signing with the team and joining the active roster today.

Acuna is a 27-year-old Venezuela native who has extensive time in the Mets organziation. Last season, he was with the Brewers Double-A affiliate in Huntsville.

Pats Activate Cannon: The Patriots will have a new player of their own for their series in Long Island, and it’s a former Duck. As has been reported here and elsewhere, P Jon Cannon has signed with the team and has been activated today. He will likely start tomorrow against his former team.

Aqueron To Camden: Rene Aqueron, who started the season on the Road Warriors, is back in Camden. He hit .308 in three games with the league’s road club. I’m still hearing things about a big league pitcher headed there, so stay tuned…

Also, the Riversharks have traded P Bryan Edwards to Bridgeport. Edwards has a 22.50 ERA in two appearances so far this season, and was acquired for the ever-popular “future considerations.”

So basically here’s how this all worked out…

Bridgeport loses Junge, Bridgeport gets Edwards from Camden. Camden gets Aqueron from RW to fill empty roster spot. Hooray BASA!

Just Another Mannix Monday: The Road Warriors have deactivated pitcher Kevin Mannix. The former Duck was 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA in two starts this season. – Mike Ashmore

Redman will be playing with former Bluefish Gary Burnham in Ottawa. He’s doing great up there.

Had a great time at HY tonight. I wore a button that said “Kiss me, it’s my birthday”, and a few people did, too! I didn’t get my group hug but our starting pitcher did toss me the ball he was throwing during his warm ups before the game.

I felt like queen for a day! EVERYONE from the front office stopped by to wish me happy birthday, and they even made an announcement. Very Cool…

Oh and did I mention the Bluefish beat the Barnstormers 11-2?????? All in all, not a bad night! 🙂

The O’s AAA Club is in Norfolk now. Just another step in the ever present shuffle of affiliates.

It sucks that we won’t get to see Redman play one game in York. I watched the work out at York College and he was launching balls into the creek beyond the out field wall. I saw him play in Camden last week and he was a pleasure to watch. I had also seen him play back in ’99 when I worked for the Bowie Baysox and Tike was a member of the Curve. By the way, Joe Ferguson was the manager of that Bowie club.
