Look, News!: Tom King of The Nashua Telegraph wrote in a recent article that the Can-Am League’s Nashua Pride are close to an agreement with P Jimmy Mann.

Absolutely lights out for the Pride in their Atlantic League days (waaaaaaaay back in 2005), Mann made an Atlantic League return last season with Long Island and things didn’t go quite as well.

The former big leaguer went 0-2 with an 11.57 ERA in seven outings with the Ducks, but the 32-year-old Brockton native always just seemed to fit in with the Pride better.

Mann was picked up by the Red Sox midway through that 2005 season and was assigned to Double-A Portland, where I best remember him from giving up a walk-off bomb to fellow ex-Atlantic Leaguer Michael Coleman in the Eastern League playoffs.

I’m not the biggest Can-Am League fan, but it is nice to see teams willing to divulge information about players. Not that this will do me any favors, but it seems like a lot of Atlantic League team officials have “Our Lips Are Sealed” by The Go-Go’s as the only song on their iPod’s… – M. Ashmore
