Q&A Schedule: John Evans, Chris Eickhorst, Adam Lorber and others are all scheduled to be a part of our Inside the AL Q&A’s in the very near future.

But Al Benjamin will be in the house Friday at 2PM, so keep sending your questions to mashmore@patriotsbaseball.com

Al’s played for quite a few AL teams, so a lot of you will be familiar with him. Ask away, kids.

Filson To Can-Am: One of my handy-dandy tipsters pointed me towards the Can-Am League’s North Shore Spirit webpage. Pete Filson, former Newark Bears pitching coach, is listed as their new pitching coach. Filson was rumored to be a candidate for Camden’s still open position.

Bears Coaching: The Newark Bears are reportedly close to naming a new hitting coach, and will officially announce their pitching coach at a Thursday news conference.

So, Newburgh’s Still Pissed: Check out this article. For those unaware, Newburgh was the home to the Black Diamonds in 1998 while the league was waiting for a stadium to be built in the Lehigh Valley area.

Sierra Talking To Mets Again: According to The New York Times (your #1 source for Atlantic League news!) Ruben Sierra is in negotiations with the Mets for a minor-league deal.

Sierra was rumored to be making an Atlantic League comeback last season as well.

King of Minnesota: C Brad King, who we reported had signed with the Minnesota Twins, has been invited to camp by the club, according to the Ducks release. Never would have expected this in 2004, but the year off really did him some good and he put together a solid 2006 campaign.

Lincoln Blogs: My friend and colleague Ryan Dunleavy has joined the blogosphere, and you can read his insight into his regular beats, including the Patriots, here. A close second for the crappy headline was “Putting Another Blog On The Fire.” – Mike Ashmore

Thomas X. Flaherty was the guy’s name, if I’m thinking of the right person…

I attended the Bears press conference, welcoming new field manager Wayne Krenchicki this afternoon. I took some photos and videotaped the entire presentation on my digital camera. I would love to upload it for all interested parties to see, but until I figure out how to upload files longer than 10 minutes in length, I’m in digital limbo. YouTube only allows ten minutes worth and this clip is 14:48. Anyone have any helpful suggestions? You can email me through http://www.BrickCityBruins.com

The White Sox announced their minor league staffs & it looks like Chris Jones has landed on his feet.
“Chris Jones has been named manager at Class A Kannapolis following two seasons as manager of the Newark Bears in the independent Northern League. He played nine major-league seasons with Cincinnati (1991), Houston (1992), Colorado (1993-94), the Mets (1995-96), San Diego (1997), Arizona (1998), San Francisco (1998) and Milwaukee (2000).”

I just noticed “Newark Bears in the independent Northern League”.

Don’t the CWS have somebody proof read their press releases?!?!

Can you edit it into two 7-8 minute segments?
Call it Newark Bears pt 1 & 2.

I don’t know anything about digital editing but worst case scenario, we’d see 15-20 seconds twice…

It’s an idea.
Good luck!

I literally just returned from a fun day of taking placement tests for a few college courses. I was supposed to go to the Bears news conference, but real life interfered.

Chris Jones, though. Wow.

sendspace.com – you might be able to upload it there, but it would only be a downloadable file, not something you could view in a player like YouTube.
