Thunder Alumni League: Former members of the Trenton Thunder continue to flock to the Atlantic League. After yesterday’s signing of 2006 Thunder member C Tommy Rojas by the Somerset Patriots, the Camden Riversharks have signed P Rik Currier to a contract.

Currier was pitching for Long Beach of the Golden Baseball League this season. He pitched for Trenton in 2003 and 2004. He’s a sixth round pick, drafted by the Yankees in 2001.

Patterson Not Returning To Lancaster: I spoke to former Barnstormers P Scott Patterson today, and he told me would not be returning to Lancaster for the playoffs. Patterson has signed a deal in Venezuela after the Eastern League season ends. – Mike Ashmore

Was disappointed and frustrated that the Sharks lost both games of the DH Thurs. night and to make matters worse, a 3 game sweep by the Surf. A crucial Shark error led to 3 unearned runs which ultimately cost them the 1st game. The Sharks have dug themselves in a hole and now have to face the Barnstormers. It’s going to be a tight race to the finish. BTW, was that you #1surffan at the game with the maracas..rooting for the Surf (and perhaps putting the whammy on the sharks..LOL)?
I hear Freire is gone for the season..they will miss his bat.

Shark fan – yep, ’twas me. Can’t seem to locate my cowbell since before the Bridgeport series, so I’m relagated to a rattle and hand clapper. Seems to be working – good mojo last night. LONG drive home though. I never quite seem to take the same way out as in –

Hey John, due to the Shark’s DH loss, my hubby said his drive home from the field was longggggggggg also & we only live 10 mins. away…lol!
He also said the same thing about the game as “anonymous” above.
I hope things go better for us tonight & not so good for you! Hey, and find that cowbell! The Shark’s do better when you ring that, obviously! The heat is on!!!

ARRG, being a Bears fan is so depressing. 11 in a row. I can’t believe I am actually going tonight.

SharkGirl – you are more than welcome to enjoy the postseason games – as my guest – in Atlantic City (fingers crossed tightly).

of course, you may wish to use your own directions…..funny how it takes about 55 min to get there, but 90 to get back….

Although the sweep by AC was torture, the Sharks need to move on. The series against Lancaster will be huge. They sure have their work cut out for them. It looks like the Road Warriors have a chance to be spoilers…first up, the Surf… wouldn’t that be nice for us Shark fans. It seems like Camden will need to take the division if they are to make the playoffs as AC is so far ahead of them in total wins in the event of a wild card (and can’t count the Patriots out either). Let the fun begin or should I say this is going to be a nerve racking “ride” for all of us diehard fans in the south division. Bridgeport fans can breathe easy.
Any word about DeFelice who came out of the game last night?…hopefully he didn’t injure himself.

nobody said anything that I heard, but he was holding his pitching arm like a limp spaghetti noodle. Probably not good.
