Marquez Returns: The Somerset Patriots continue to bring back familiar faces. This time, it’s P Robert Marquez, who pitched for Somerset in 2004 and 2005. Marquez had not pitched anywhere this season, but looks to replace the recently departed Mike Johnson.

Radmanovich Strikes Again: In a 4-2 exhibition game loss to the USA, Canada’s Ryan Radmanovich went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. The other two Patriots on team Canada, Mike Johnson and Kevin Nicholson, did not play.

Quack Attack Is Back, Jack: The Long Island Ducks received a boost today with the return of their All-Star outfielder Dominick Ambrosini. The Ducks have been playing with a really short roster lately, so this will help a lot. – Mike Ashmore

I see the Bears have released Liu Rodriguez. He seemed to be playing well. Does anybody know why?

2. Tom from Long Island - August 23, 2006

The Ducks bring back Ambrosini and in the same motion they release Bryan Goelz? What’s wrong with this picture? The Ducks are shorthanded and they release a guy who has busted his butt for them. They are still short men on their roster and they release an able bodied player and continue to keep Juan Gonzalez on the roster who continues to not play or even be present at the games (he’s been in Puerto Rico for the last week) and when he is there he shows no hustle or willingness to play. Can someone explain to me the hold that Juan Gone has on Frank Boulton and the Ducks?

Tom you are soooooo right. Bryan really got the short end of the stick. Another rotten decision by Frank Boulton and others.

Bryan Goelz played for the Road Warriors last night against the Bears.

I would love to see the contract that Juan Gonzalez has with the Ducks. It probably has some interesting clauses in it.

Radmanovich does it again…

In the fifth inning, with the U.S. up 2-1, Canada’s Kevin Nicholson and Ryan Radmanovich knocked back-to-back two-run doubles off Adenhart. Pierre luc-Laforest knocked a single to drive home Radmanovich for a 6-2 Canada advantage.

I also agree with you Tom,the Ducks can really baffle you sometimes.Goelz isn’t the greatest player, but give him a break,he has been shuttled back and forth with the Warriors, then they just dump him for Ambrosini.Im glad Ambro is back, but they could have shown a little more class.

Boosterbabe,i dont know if you heard about it,but in Tuesday nights Duck-Bluefish game, your bullpen strick out the side in the last 3 innings.Matt Anderson pitched a perfect 7th,and Jimie Journell struck out the side in the 8th and 9th. He did walk3 and gave up a hit,but it was a very impressive relirf job by your bullpen.
