More Players Looking For Work: Last week we told you about Calvin Pickering, who was a power-hitting first baseman looking for work. A new array are now available, including Angel Miranda, Jose Velasquez, and Luis Arroyo. All do have former A.L. experience. – Scott Stanchak

I really wonder if the Ducks will use Rob Cafiero as an emergency pitcher. He pitched another decent inning Sunday. The way the pitching is,he may be a find.

He throws knuckles right? How is the catcher handling them?

The Long Island Ducks today announced that they have acquired pitcher Colin Young from the Bridgeport Bluefish, completing a trade made earlier this season in which the Ducks sent Donovan Osborne to Bridgeport.

seems to me that Velasquex left AC with little or no notice last year. I’d doubt anyone would want to give him a chance expecting him to take another offer overnight….

Dominick Ambriosini is back with the Ducks

Yeah, and where’s Osborne now? Somehow, the Bluefish got screwed outta that deal, didn’t we? Actually, they released Young a couple weeks ago to make room for either Norton or Simontacchi. Norton, as you know, is gone already. Young really was a free agent at this point. Rumors were that he was going to either the RW or to another independent league out west someplace.

Wish LI webcasted their weeknight games….

What Happened to Phil Norton?
Did he even suit up?

8. BoosterBabe - August 23, 2006

Norton pitched a couple times. I caught his first couple of games …CT Post said last week that LaPoint released him b/c he was brought in to be a power against lefties and he really wasn’t so they released him and signed….someone else. I forget who. The revolving door on our clubhouse is spinning a little faster than I can keep up with lately!!!

ANyone know what happened in LI tonight?
