About Last Night:

Larry Barnes

Mark DiFelice

Jim Buckley

Navarrete To Ducks: INF Ray Navarrete has signed with the Long Island Ducks, just a day after it was believed that he’d be headed to the Road Warriors. Road Warriors manager Jeff Scott said yesterday that he was expecting to get a hold of Navarrete and possibly bring him onto the team, but that clearly never materialized.

Instead, the Road Warriors acquired P Darwin Soto from the Northern League’s Winnipeg Goldeyes for future considerations.

Bears Moves: The Newark Bears have officially announced the signing of INF Victor Rodriguez, a move you read about here first about a week or so ago. Also, the team has signed former Camden P Shaun Babula.

Sandberg Speaks: I’m in Trenton tonight, and they’re playing the Akron Aeros. Former Patriots INF Jared Sandberg is a member of the Aeros, and we spent a few minutes talking about the Patriots. He was curious about who had left after he did, and how they were doing in the second half. Sandberg is not in the lineup tonight. – Mike Ashmore

Ray Navarrete signed with the Ducks. He fills a need cause they were short of infielders especially up the middle

Whats the deal with the Road Warriors having like 15 pitchers on the active roster? Also whats the deal with their Shortstop Felix Martinez, he was out of the line-up for a while, then comes back and plays 2nd Base, and then is out of the line-up again?

Just from looking at the box score — again, I was not there tonight — Martinez was in the lineup…
