Ashmore in AC: Yes kids, I’m down in Atlantic City to check out the Patriots-Surf game. The first order of business is to address the Ruben Sierra story. I’m told the Patriots will not be signing Sierra, although a return to the Atlantic League can’t entirely be ruled out.

Anyway, I’ll post some pictures and whatnot from my little road trip. – Mike Ashmore

Stanchak’s Sierra Update: I have been able to confirm that Sierra has had some contact with certain Atlantic League officials; however, a source is telling me that he would only come back for a “good” amount of money. How “good” is unknown, but as Ashmore says, ruling out a comeback is not entirely out of the question.

I spoke with the Patriots tonight and they are saying that this all is still very early in the process and there are several teams vying for his service. – Scott Stanchak.

Lancaster has supposedly signed a new pitcher who was just released from the royals organization.

Brett Evert is the guy Lancaster has signed. He was recently released by the Brewers organization and he played at Huntsville and Nashville earlier this season. Evert is expected to make his debut Sat night against the Long Island Ducks. This looks like a nice addition to the Barnstormers starting rotation.
