Bears Make Moves: The Newark Bears were busy today, releasing right-hander Blas Cedeno and activated right-handed pitchers Samuel Martinez and Joe Cole. The club also put pitcher Fernando Rijo on the disabled list.

DeLeon Released: Everyone’s favorite former Atlantic-Leaguer, Sandy DeLeon, was released from the Fullerton Flyers of the Golden Baseball League. Too bad the Atlantic City Surf didn’t need a new backstop.

Shark Moves: The Camden Riversharks released Michael Floyd and Anthony Aquillino today, as well as placed L.J. Biernbaum on the D.L. – Scott Stanchak.

Patriots Piece Posted: Head on over to MikeAshmore.com to check out this week’s Patriots piece. I’m sure this one will stir up some conversation…

Latest Rumors: The latest rumor I’ve heard has recently released infielder Edgardo Alfonzo headed to the Atlantic League. No word on what team, but you can make the same guesses I can as to where and where he wouldn’t go. Todd Self, recently released from Trenton, has also popped up in conversations. He played for Houston last season.

Self-Made Update: Well, Self isn’t coming to the AL, he signed with the American Association instead. He was with Norfolk this year, and told me he didn’t think the Mets gave him a chance…despite the fact he was hitting somewhere around .100 at the time of his release. Nice guy, but not sure how realistically he was looking at the situation there.

Bluefish lose Third Baseman: The team has lost 3B Luis Figueroa to the Mexican League. And Alfonzo is available. Hmmm…

Canned: The Can-Am League’s Nashua Pride, and yes that still sounds weird, cut P Terrell Wade today. Wade played for AC and the Road Warriors in the AL.

Thanks, Newark: Had a good time in Newark yesterday, was able to get some work done for my Patriots piece since they’ll be away all week. – Mike Ashmore

Edgardo would go to the Ducks – And he wouldn’t go to the Road Warriors – How is that for a guess?

Once again….the Bluefish lose a player. SIGH….will it EVER end?
We did win tonight–waiting for someone to snatch up TJ Matthews now.

It’s terrible. Everytime one of our hurlers pitches well…I almost think “Damn….don’t get too good….I don’t wanna lose you!”

I’m getting really sick of this.

“This article sucked, no offense.”

Yes, those two statements go quite well together.

My Mother always told me…. “if you can’t say anything nice…”
I love your stuff, Mike!

It’s better than the “here’s what the Patriots did this week” crap that I could write every week, figured I’d might as well take a shot at a themed article.

I will absolutely admit it’s not my best piece, but it’s far from suckage. Far.

It was a different take on baseball. I rather like it. Can’t please everyone. Go Patriots!

Loved the article man, keep up the good work. It’s true, you can’t make everyone happy.

I don’t know what everyone’s bitching about, this was good. Creative, and he got quotes from the guys we all think might have been going before the moves. What’s so bad about it?
