Cunnane Returns: Rich Elliott of The Connecticut Post reports P Will Cunnane will return to the Bluefish after receiving his release by the Cardinals. Elliott writes that Cunnane will return home for a few days, so I wouldn’t expect him in Somerset.

Maness Active: The Bears have activated P Nick Maness.

Radman Update: Patriots OF Ryan Radmanovich is day-to-day with what he described as a hip flexor injury. He suffered the injury trying to retreat to first base in the muddy infield last night, which brings me to my next point…

Patriots Upset: Several Patriots players were upset about playing in the awful conditions last night, with one going as far as to say it was “negligent,” although the player didn’t specify whether he blamed the team, league or grounds crew.

Schueing Signs: According to a source, the Road Warriors have signed former Lancaster P Matt Scheuing.

NASCAR Night: Last night, Brian Vickers stopped by Commerce Bank Ballpark for the second straight year to make an appearance in conjunction with NASCAR Night. I read some rumors that day about him headed to some other teams on Jayski.com, asked Vickers about it that night, and the next thing you know – parts of my interview with him are posted on Jayski.com

For those of you not familiar with NASCAR, Jayski.com is the most popular NASCAR site on the web, attracting over 150,000 visitors a day. Getting not only my name, but the name of my paper and the team I’ve covered for four years on the front page there was quite an accomplishment, and I wanted to thank the few people who’ve already started e-mailing me wondering if that’s really me on there.

While only parts of the interview are posted over there, NASCAR fans should head on over to MikeAshmore.com for the complete transcript. – Mike Ashmore

Surf Add One: The Atlantic City Surf added third baseman Matt Imwalle, from Oklahoma City University, to the roster to replace catcher Steve Torrealba, who was suspended by the team yesterday for leaving to go play in Mexico. – Scott Stanchak.

Mike, what was the real reason for the Pat’s cancelling the second game? Seemed odd considering the radar was clear of rain and Lancaster got their game in.

Strange but true: Newark Bears manager was late to hand in his line-up card to the umps because somebody swiped it. It appears he may have put it down to sign some autos and somebody walked off with it.

When he was late to the plate, Sparky Lyle had to walk over to the Bears dugout to see what the hold-up was. Jones had to fill out a new one.

It probably had something to do with the puddles on the warning track and between third base and shortstop.

Yeah, the field was absolutely atrocious last night…worst I’ve ever seen them play in. No way they were doing two, and it’s not like it stopped raining in between games or anything.

Yo, saw your stuff in Jayski, nice job with that bro.

Thanks man…ummm, loved you in N’Sync.

Matt Scheuing was signed by the Road Warriors. He pitched a scoreless seventh, giving up a triple to Steve Van Note and striking out one.

Matt was one of my favorite Barnstormers last season. I happened to see him before the game last and was surprised to see him in a Road Warrior uniform but I am glad to see him pitching again. matt is a super nice guy!
