Jimmy Goelz will be joining the New York City Fire Department. He will be entering the academy shortly.

Would love to have read the article about Burnham. However, the Reading Eagle only lets you read today’s paper online. Unless you are a print subscriber or pay for an online subscription. Grrrrrr. By the time the Google News alert gets to me, the article has gone into their archives, where it can only be read by subscribers. Oh well.

Maxwell’s release is on the Bears web site.

The Bears are brutal to watch at this point. Batting just .218 as a team and a game and a half behind the RW’s. I like Chris Jones, but they may have to do something drastic. They were absolutely flat this weekend.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes of the Northern League have agreed to terms with INF Keith Maxwell, while the Worcester Tornadoes of the Can Am League have released for AL player P Jeff Sparks.

I hope Dowd isn’t on the way out, he’s been doing an excellent job this season. Haven’t really heard anything coming out of Bridgeport on this, so I would assume nothing’s up, but you never know.
