Morrissey With Rangers: For a few weeks, second baseman Adam Morrissey‘s name could be found on the Camden Riversharks web site and then it was gone. Well, he’s popped up on the roster for the Texas Rangers Triple-A affiliate, the Oklahoma Red Hawks.

Former A.L.ers Now Saints: The St. Paul Saints have two former Atlantic League players on their roster, including former Baseball America Independent League Player of the Year Victor Rodriguez. The club also has former Nashua Pride first baseman Brian Becker on the roster. – Scott Stanchak.

Bluefish Sign One: According to the Connecticut Post’s Rich Elliott, Bridgeport has signed former big league pitcher Kevin Hodges to a contract. Hodges got into 13 games with the Seattle Mariners in 2000. The first big league batter he faced was Kenny Lofton. – Mike Ashmore

in response to the “house cleaning” do you think that the patriots will be releasing some of their IF and OF players? Also, what are the chances that they will sign Michael Tucker?

Although I haven’t heard any specific names get mentioned, I think it’s entirely possible you could see some position players get released, yes.

The impression I got on talking to people on Tucker was that it didn’t really seem like it was close right now, if it were going to happen at all. Honestly, you hear about bigger names coming to the Al all the time – Jeremy Giambi, Benito Santiago, Frank Castillo, Danny Graves – and nothing ever becomes of it.

Growing up a Braves fan (I’ve since converted to Red Sox Nation since around 1999) I’d love to see Tucker join any club in the league.

If he were to play in Somerset, I think the clear choice is for him to play in left with Lockwood in center and Rad in right.

Consequently, Burt would get some more time in the infield.

I also wouldn’t be surprised to see something happen with the catching situation pretty soon, to be honest. Whether someone goes or someone gets signed for depth, that could be a possibility.

Becker, by the way, is reportedly making at least double the AL max…

I think Burt has some real potential, just needs to find his groove in this league. I’d like to see him play some infield as well… heard he was a standout at 1st base in Miami. Looked at his info from the Mets, looked like he didnt get much of a chance since he was backing up their top prospect Carp I believe. I think we have a good team this year in Somerset, once they work out all of their early in the season kinks… anyone else agree?

As of right now, Burt hasn’t shown me anything to prove that he’s an everyday guy.

That Saints lineup oughta be pretty decent with Rodriguez and Becker in the lineup!
