DiFelice Falters in Debut: 2005 Atlantic League Championship Series MVP Mark DiFelice struggled in his debut for the Camden Riversharks yesterday, giving up seven runs (five earned) on six hits over just four innings of work in the Riversharks 7-3 loss to Long Island.

DiFelice joined the Somerset Patriots for the last few months of the 2005 season, quickly becoming their ace in the playoffs and leading the team to their third championship in five years. The pitcher was one of 14 players the Cubs signed in February of this year, but he was released prior to the start of the season. – Mike Ashmore

The Blue Crabs: The new Southern Maryland baseball team scheduled to begin play in the Atlantic League in 2007 will be named the Blue Crabs. The team will also play in Regency Furniture Stadium. – Scott Stanchak.
