Bears Sign Two: The Newark Bears signed pitcher David Glick and infielder Liu Rodriguez today. I know Glick from his time with the Thunder; great guy and a really good pitcher. He’s played some indy ball and did very well. – Scott Stanchak.

Ashmore’s Take: I did a just for the hell of it Google search on Rodriguez, and it turns out he played in the big leagues in 1999 with the Chicago White Sox. Sweet. I like the Bears signings so far, bringing in some new Major League talent.

Patriots Counter “Primetime Glick” Signing With Two of Their Own: The Somerset Patriots re-signed relievers Saul Solveson and Adam Larson today. The Patriots seem to be making a big effort to bring back as many pieces of the 2005 Championship team as possible.

Former AL Players Making News: The Northern League’s Calgary Vipers signed former Bears P Jake Brooks and waived former Surf DH Juan Thomas. Juan Thomas is a beast, I’d love to see him back in the AL. Also, the Gary Southshore Railcats signed 2004 Atlantic League Disappointment of the Year, former Patriots P Jason Shelley. – Mike Ashmore
