Jodie Speaks: I spoke with new Patriots pitching coach Brett Jodie for a good amount of time yesterday and he’s very excited with his new role. He was under the impression that he would going to play for the team this year, but then when he was approached three weeks ago about coaching, his mindset changed. He looks forward to working with Sparky and feels his age and having played so recently will help him relate with a lot of the guys.

Small Trade: The Sioux Falls Canaries of the Northern League traded second baseman Alexis Llanos to the Atlantic City Surf for a player to be named later. – Scott Stanchak.

Upcoming Season: With the 2006 season arriving very soon, I wanted to take this time to talk about a few things. I think that the best way for me to deliver news to you is through this news forum as we’ve been doing throughout the off-season. The rest of the features, mostly ALPlus and news content, will still be available on the “main” page of ALB.com. Personally, I don’t have the time anymore with all the other things going on and Mike Ashmore, who will be talking about his roles this upcoming season in a few months, will be busy as well. I truly feel that news is why you guys and girls come here so if we can focus more on that then the records and all-time roster page, it will be worth it for everyone.

This goes the same for PatriotsBaseball.com. I’m going to try and update all the pages to go with last season; however, all the news will most likely be, again, posted on this page.

Please let me know any questions, comments or suggestions you may have: sstanchak@atlanticleaguebaseball.com.
