Manager Talk: Having been hearing some rumors that the coaching tandem of Bert Pena and Jeff Scott might be re-united for the 2006 Road Warriors season. That would obviously mean Pena wouldn’t be returning to Lancaster and Scott wouldn’t be coming back to Somerset. I’d always been under the assumption Scott wouldn’t be returning – considering I’m still under the assumption that was more of a league hire than it was a team one, but Pena leaving would be a bit of a surprise.

Other such rumors include a former Patriot pitcher being named pitching coach in the future, the Bluefish closing in on a deal with a former league manager and other stuff. Again, THESE ARE JUST RUMORS at this time, so who knows what’s true and what isn’t…if even any of it is. – Mike Ashmore

Stanchak’s Take: Scott had a job lined up, according to him, after this season. No word if that went through.

Bluefish Gets New Ownership: The Bridgeport Bluefish will announce their new ownership tomorrow at a 2:00 p.m. news conference. With the way things in this league usually are, I wouldn’t be suprised if it’s a familiar name in the group. – Scott Stanchak.
