THE SOMERSET PATRIOTS ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF THE ATLANTIC LEAGUE.

The Patriots beat the Nashua Pride today, 6-1, at Holman Stadium in Nashua, N.H. to sweep the best-of-five series. Billy Hall went 4-for-5 and Ryan Radmanovich, Jeff Nettles and Lou Lucca produced two hits apiece. Starting pitcher Mark DiFelice went all nine innings and struck out three, allowing 11 Nashua base hits.

The Pride used seven pitchers and Joe Kilburg had three hits.

Barnstormer Pitcher Update: Lancaster Barnstormers pitcher Matt Scheuing has been hired to coach the Millersville University baseball team until the spring on an interm basis, according to a source. Scheuing also helped coach at Lampeter Strasburg High School team before joining the Barnstormers this season. That team went on to win the championship. – Scott Stanchak.
