Surf Tie Series at One: In front of one of the most vocal crowds at Commerce Bank Ballpark all year, the Surf tied the series at one with a 7-3 victory last night. Melvin Rosario, Rayner Bautista and Julian Yan each homered in the game. Shane Heams, who had reportedly been battling back issues, could only muster three innings for the Patriots. Tim Christman will take the ball in the decisive game three tonight.

Pride Force Game Three in Extras: Shane Hopper’s sacrifice fly in the 11th inning gave the Pride a 5-4 win and forced a game three. Lance Davis is set to face Pete Hartmann in the deciding game. I think the edge goes to Nashua, as Davis is a little banged up…

Dedrick Gone: Bluefish pitching coach Jim Dedrick has reportedly been let go by the team as a result of his obscenity laced tirade several days ago. He aparently used a much shorter version of the word firetruck, omitting several letters in the middle and doing it a multitude of times. Several families reportedly got up and left and the proceeded to write letters to team officials and local media outlets.

Rivera’s Been Gone: Although I hadn’t heard anything about this all season, the Bears have apparently been operating without a GM for the entire second half. Ex-Bears GM Dean Rivera is now reportedly working with the Islanders, so I would assume that Henry Cruz was making all the moves for the Bears in the second half. – Mike Ashmore
