Can you take me Higher?: The Press of Atlantic City reports that the team has signed LHP Andy High and activated him. High spent parts of 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2004 with the Surf and had his best year in ’01, going 9-2 with a 3.20 ERA. I really think that left handed pitching is going to have a big impact come playoff time, and that’s a theme I’ve been harping on ever since our AL radio preview show on WDVR. And oh yes, I apologize for the Creed reference.

Pride Signing: Nashua, in desperate need of pitchers, has signed an…ummm, infielder. INF Brett Davis was signed by the team, and C Eddie Wilson was deactivated to make room for him. Wilson was 0-for-2 in 3 games. I’m making the assumption that this Brett Davis was the one who just graduated from The University of Montevallo, but the guy could be like 8 feet tall for all I know too. Stay tuned. Also, P Jeremy Griffiths is no longer listed in Nashua’s statistics page, so I’m not sure what to assume there. INF Enohel Polanco has showed up on that same list, you might remember him from his time with the Surf.

You know what’s more fun than going up and down a roster like a Ouija board? Sending out a press release or putting something on your site so I don’t have to. Few things are more frustrating than just seeing a guy pop up on a roster. Many, many teams are guilty of this. – Mike Ashmore
