AL Scoreboard: The Pride shut out the Patriots, 5-0, in a rain shortened game. The Pride completed a three game sweep of the Patriots in what could be a preview of the Championship Series. Glenn Murray’s 16th home run of the year, a three run shot, was more than enough for the Pride. Denny Harriger threw seven scoreless innings for Nashua.

The Surf beat the Ducks, 10-4. Ozzie Timmons hit a three run home run for the Surf in the win. Justin Lamber fell to 5-1 for the Ducks, but he’s certainly been a pleasant surprise this year.

Newark used a four run first inning to propel them to a 7-5 win over Bridgeport. Michael Moore hit another home run for Newark. It would be so appropriate if someone were to make a documentary on him, no?

Lancaster kicked the stuffing out of Camden, 13-1. Enemencio Pacheco threw seven shutout innings to lead the Barnstormers to victory.

Fast Fact: Michael Coleman’s first game in a Trenton Thunder uniform will be his first time playing for that team since 1997, when the team was affiliated with Boston. He hit .301 that season, with 14 home runs and 58 RBI. That was the same year he made his big league debut with the Boston Red Sox.

“I had a good year with the Thunder, I had a great time there,” Coleman told me last year. “I was there for the majority of the year, Dave Gallagher was our hitting coach and DeMarlo Hale was our manager. They established several guys in the big leagues and some of those guys are still in the big leagues. But I had a fun year that year.”
