VOTING NOTES: Over 80,000 fans voted in the process. The rosters are selected by league GM’s, coaching staffs, media members and fans. I (MA) did not have a vote in this process, nor did Scott. Anyway, each part of the equation counts for 25% of the voting process.

All-Star Updates: Bears OF Francisco Santos may be unavailable to complete due to a shin injury. He was not with the team during part of their series with Somerset so he could have an MRI done. Team officials feared a stress fracture on his shin, and he was placed on the DL today.

AL Scoreboard: Somerset beat Atlantic City, 7-6, in a big win for their playoff chances. Brian Tollberg earned his league leading 9th win of the year, going 6.2 innings and allowing two runs on three hits.

Bridgeport beat Camden, 8-5. D.J. Boston hit a home run in the win.

Nashua beat Lancaster, 4-2, and reduced their magic number to 2. Jim Mann got his 15th save of the year and Denny Harriger improved to 7-4 with the win. Lance Burkhart homered in the loss, his 8th knock in 12 days.

Long Island and Newark were rained out.

Shier Suspended: Nashua Pride SS Pete Shier has been suspended indefinitely and fined an undisclosed amount of money for his role in an altercation with the Bridgeport Bluefish on June 29th. No word if SS Tony Rodriguez was suspended as well. – Scott Stanchak and Mike Ashmore
