One Game Today: Only the Surf and Barnstormers are in action, with the rest of the league having the day off.

Bears sign infielder: INF Dalmiro Quezada signed with Newark today. Why this happened is beyond me. Looking at his stats from last year, it appears he’d have a tough time cracking the roster of a wiffle ball squad.

2004 stats with the Aces of the Northeast League: 26/145 (.179) in 53 games. 0 home runs, 5 RBI. 5 RBI in 145 at-bats? Oh. My. God.

Ducks Sign Another Former MLB Player: The Long Island Ducks agreed to terms with former Nashua Pride and big leaguer Henry Rodriguez.

On the Hot Seat: A source reports that Barnstormers P Pedro Diaz is on the hot seat. Diaz certainly wasn’t the pitcher that the Barnstormers were expecting to get when they signed him. Last year, Diaz spent time with the Road Warriors and pitched so well that he was picked up by the Tigers.

That hasn’t been the case this year. Diaz has struggled, posting a 1-0 record with a 7.33 ERA over 13 games going into Sunday’s contest with Somerset.

Ten Questions Posted: I’ve finally caught up with all my Ten Questions pieces, just as I have to prepare to get some new ones done. My interviews with Nashua Pride pitchers Jason Pearson and Jim Mann are now posted, please check them out when you have a second. – Mike Ashmore
