Patriots roster moves: The team has released P Carl Sadler and activated P Dave Elder. Sadler only appeared in two games with Somerset, going 0-1 and posting an ERA well over 10. The Patriots have some wiggle room, expect some moves very, very shortly.

Scoreboard: Somerset lost to Nashua, 10-4, for their third straight loss. Glenn Murray and Brian Becker both hit towering shots to left field for Nashua.

It took only 2 hours and 9 minutes for the Surf to beat Lancaster, 3-1. Considering there’s an 11:05 start in AC tomorrow, that worked out pretty well. Dario Delgado homered for the Surf.

Paxton Crawford improved to 6-2 as the Ducks beat the Riversharks, 7-4. Todd Erdos got his 9th save, Carlos Hernandez hit his first home run, John Rocker pitched a scoreless inning and Patrick Lennon went 3-5 with an RBI.

Newark defeated Bridgeport, 8-7.

Yesterday’s Scoreboard: NAS 1-SOM 0, G1, NAS 2-SOM 0, G2, CAM 3-LI 2, BPT 11-NWK 9, LAN 6-AC 5.

Former Newark Bear traded: The Kansas City Royals acquired INF Pete Maestrales from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for OF Eli Marrero and cash considerations.

10Q Update: An interview with 2002 Triple Crown Winner Jimmy Hurst will be posted soon. I apologize for not posting stuff right away, but I’ve been very busy lately working on stuff for the radio show and other things. I was in Philadelphia last night covering my first Major League game, and I took a lot of time to prepare for that. – Mike Ashmore
