According to Bluefish owner Mickey Herbert’s latest installment of “Mickey’s Mail,” which is always worth a read, the Atlanta Braves organization has in fact signed P Mike Porzio. Porzio, who was a member of the 1999 Colorado Rockies and the 2002-03 Chicago White Sox, would have made a big impact in Bridgeport’s starting rotation.

The New York Post is reporting that former Atlantic City Surf OF and current New York Yankee Ruben Sierra will be out 4-6 with a tear in his bicep muscle.

4/27: The Atlantic League season gets underway, with the Newark Bears hosting the Somerset Patriots in a special 1 game series.

4/28: Ashmore and Stanchak will be broadcasting the Lancaster Barnstormers first ever game for 89.7 WDVR-FM, with coverage starting at 7 PM. The Patriots host the expansion franchise in what’s sure to be an exciting home opener for Somerset and franchise opener for Lancaster.
