As promised, here is the update on the Pride situation. As was mentioned, the Pride signed former MLB OF Darren Bragg. He has 11 seasons of big league experience and has played with Seattle, Boston, St. Louis, Colorado, New York Mets, New York Yankees, Atlanta, San Diego and Cincinnati. This is a good signing for the league, as Bragg was in the bigs as recently as last year. He also has played in the ALDS and NLDS with Boston and Atlanta.

Also The Nashua Telegraph’s Tom King is reporting that Kevan Burns is retiring instead of re-signing with Nashua and that Tom Creighton will be unavailable to the team after breaking his jaw. Dave Francia and Joe Kilburg, however, will return according to the paper.

The Pride have announced they have also signed: SS Ricardo Cordova, SS Tomas DeLaRosa, P Nate Teut, P Brad Guy, C Jamie Pogue, P Brandon Agamennone, 2B Mike Torres and C Johnathan Nathans. Cordova, Teut, Guy and Pogue have all played with Nashua before. Only Teut brings MLB experience…

Check out the new AC Surf roster here. No real big names standing out for me, although C Mike Rivera brings MLB experience to the club and Marty Janzen will join his 3rd AL squad.

Brian Adams (not the same guy who will be touring minor league parks with Def Leppard, mind you) and Andy Beal are familiar names with me from my days of following the Eastern League…

Camden signed Pitcher Ramon Linares…

The Bears are bringing back P Greg Bauer and INF Jack Santora. They also re-signed knuckleballer Joe Gannon, who threw the league’s only no-hitter last season. He was released by the New York Mets this spring..

The Ducks headed down to Homestead with these additional players: P Matt Beech, P Derek Lee, P Ryan Mottl, INF MIke Dzurilla and OF Wendell Magee…

Make sure you check out the new picture of Carlos Baerga I got while in Florida for a Nats-Marlins game. I will have more pictures for everyone in my (MA) new update…

Former Pennsylvania Road Warriors catcher Mike Lopez-Cao was released by the Red Sox organization recently. Former Somerset Patriots catcher Robinson Cancel was released by the Chicago Cubs, as was former Patriots pitcher Lance Calmus by the Colorado Rockies. Former Bears infielder Jack Santora was let go by the Houston Astros. -Mike Ashmore with Scott Stanchak.
