A source close to Rickey Henderson told me that Rickey is still looking for a shot in the big leagues and has been contacted by various independent league teams. Could a return to the Atlantic League not be so far-fetched after all? Stay tuned. Also, ESPN.com reports that former Long Island Ducks star Carlos Baerga is battling for the last spot on the Washington Nationals roster. Bill Pulsipher’s road to the Cardinals roster appears to have gotten a little easier after the Cardinals trade of Mike Myers to the Red Sox. Jim Crowell, the former Surf pitcher who saw time with the Phillies last year, was assigned to minor league camp by the Florida Marlins. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim reassigned former Rivershark Evan Thomas to minor league camp. – Mike Ashmore.
